Regular Season Round 21: Anatolia - Charilaos TM 83-73

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Charilaos TM (19-2) in Thessaloniki on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by ninth ranked Anatolia (9-12) 83-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Charilaos TM. They outrebounded Charilaos TM 40-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Guard Lefteris Galanidis (188-87) stepped up and scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and power forward Giorgos Brozos (198-86, college: Furman) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Anatolia's coach Petros Gaitatzis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was power forward Giannis Sachpatzidis (209-93) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Anastasios Antonakis (205-92) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Anatolia and four Charilaos TM players scored in double figures. Anatolia moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Agriniou. Charilaos TM at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Anatolia is looking forward to face Filippos Veroias (#15) in Veria in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Charilaos TM will play at home against Pagrati (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
