A very interesting game took place in Chalon. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 10th ranked Chalon/Saor (10-15) to eleventh ranked SIG Strasbourg (10-14) 82-79 in the game for the tenth place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Chalon/Saor. American Gabe York (190-93, college: Arizona) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 assists. The other American import guard Gerry Blakes (193-93, college: ASU) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. British forward Myles Hesson (198-90) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds and American Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona, agency: Network Sports International) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Chalon/Saor. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SIG Strasbourg moved-up to tenth place. Chalon/Saor at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. SIG Strasbourg's next round opponent will be Boulazac Basket (#15) at home where they are favorite. Chalon/Saor will play against Chalons-Reims (#14) and hope to win that game.
