Very expected game when 9th ranked Spojnia Stargard (10-12) was defeated at home by third ranked Start (17-5) 83-71 on Sunday. Start looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American-Jamaican guard Brynton Lemar (193-95, college: UC Davis) scored 22 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Tweety Carter (180-86, college: Baylor) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Four Start players scored in double figures. Start's coach David Dedek used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international point guard Tomasz Snieg (190-89) responded with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international Mateusz Kostrzewski (200-89, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Start have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Anwil. Loser Spojnia Stargard dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with BM Slam Stal. Start will meet at home Trefl (#6) in the next round. Spojnia Stargard will play against BM Slam Stal (#11) in Ostrow Wlkp. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
