Seventh-ranked Skallagrimur (3-19) made lots of trouble for second ranked Hamar (18-3) in Borganes on Sunday. The visitors from Hamar managed to secure only thirteen-point victory 122-109. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning two of next three quarters and won the game in double-overtime by 13 points. Hamar made 37-of-42 free shots (88.1 percent) during the game. Hamar outrebounded Skallagrimur 62-42 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Skallagrimur was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Coastal) who had a triple-double by scoring 32 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists. Guard Ragnar Ragnarsson (188-97) chipped in 28 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). American center Kenneth Simms (206-86, college: Cumberland, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 blocks and point guard Arnar Bjarnason (178-0) added 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Hamar and four Skallagrimur players scored in double figures. Hamar maintains second position with 18-3 record behind leader Hottur. Skallagrimur lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 19 games lost. Hamar will have a break next round. Skallagrimur will play against the league's leader Hottur (#1) in Egilsstadir and hope to win that game.
