Regular Season Round 25: UR Krakow - Unia Tarnow 95-62

The game between closely ranked teams ended with twelfth ranked UR Krakow's (7-17) home victory over bottom-ranked Unia Tarnow (0-23) 95-62 on Sunday. UR Krakow dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Unia Tarnow's 32. UR Krakow forced 25 Unia Tarnow turnovers and outrebounded them 48-28 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Unia Tarnow's players. Power forward Tomasz Palmowski (199-97) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and swingman Radoslaw Skubinski (189-0) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Five UR Krakow players scored in double figures. UR Krakow's coach Piotr Piecuch felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Jacek Sulowski (192-79) responded with 19 points (made all of his seven free throws) and guard Daniel Stawarski (191-87) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Newly promoted UR Krakow maintains twelfth place in Group C with 7-17 record. Unia Tarnow lost their twenty third game in a row. They still close the standings with 23 games lost. UR Krakow will have a break next round. Unia Tarnow will play at home against Polonia Bytom (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
