We should mention about the upset which took place in Sao Paulo, where higher ranked Pinheiros (15-12) lost at home to tenth ranked Rio Claro (13-13) 80-86 on Wednesday. Rio Claro made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Vinicius Pastor (200-90) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Argentinian point guard Fabian Sahdi (186-89) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Four Rio Claro players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Caio Torres (211-87, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 27 points and 6 rebounds and American center Chris Ware (203-89, college: Indiana Tech) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Rio Claro. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Botafogo F.R. and Corinthians. Loser Pinheiros keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Rio Claro will face league's leader Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
