Regular Season Round 25: KR - Skallagrimur 65-50

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked KR's (18-7) home victory over 3rd placed Skallagrimur (14-10) in Reykjavik 65-50 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by KR. Skallagrimur was better in third quarter 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Skallagrimur 47-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Serbian-Hungarian swingman Sanja Orozovic (186-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Danielle Rodriguez (178-93, college: Utah) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Keira Robinson (176-95, college: VCU) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Danish power forward Emilie Hesseldal (186-90, college: Colorado St.) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Skallagrimur. KR maintains second place with 18-7 record having four points less than leader Valur. Skallagrimur at the other side dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. KR will face bottom-ranked Grindavik (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Skallagrimur will play against Keflavik (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
