Ninth-ranked Kiryat Motzkin (9-12) was very close to win a game against third ranked Elitzur Yavne (14-8) on Thursday. Elitzur Yavne managed to secure only one-point victory 89-88. However their fans expected much easier game. Canadian-Jamaican guard Daniel Mullings (189-91, college: N.Mexico St.) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and American forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) supported him with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Even 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds by American forward Orlando Coleman (196-92, college: Texas Southern) did not help to save the game for Kiryat Motzkin. Guard Noam Matalon (197-87) added 22 points and 4 assists for lost side. Elitzur Yavne maintains third position with 14-8 record behind leader Bnei Hertzeliya. Kiryat Motzkin lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 12 games lost. Elitzur Yavne will meet H.Galilee (#7) in the next round. Kiryat Motzkin will play against Ironi Ashkelon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
