Regular Season Round 21: Tindastoll - IR 99-76

There was no surprise in Sauoarkrokur where 7th ranked IR (11-10) was crushed by third ranked Tindastoll (14-7) 99-76. The game was mostly controlled by Tindastoll. IR was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded IR 43-25 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tindastoll players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Slovenian forward Sinisa Bilic (202-89, agency: 011 Sports) nailed 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and American point guard Deremy Geiger (181-90, college: Idaho, agency: Blacktop Management) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists. The former international forward Collin Pryor (198-90, college: Northern St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) came up with 21 points and the former international forward Danero Thomas (200-86, college: Murray St., agency: Promotex) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for IR in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tindastoll maintains third place with 14-7 record having just three points less than leader Stjarnan, which they share with KR. IR at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Tindastoll's next round opponent will be Grindavik (#8) on the road which should be theoretically another easy game. IR will play against the league's second-placed Keflavik and hope to win that game.
