Important game to mention about took place in Ashkelon. Sixth ranked Hasharon (12-10) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 12th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (8-14) 102-99 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Hasharon looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Ironi Ashkelon was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Puerto Rican-American point guard TreVon Hughes (185-87, college: Wisconsin) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. American forward Jimmy Hall (203-94, college: Kent St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American-Armenian forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) replied with 25 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Paul Delaney (188-86, college: UAB) added 11 points, 7 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Ironi Ashkelon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hasharon moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kiryat Ata. Ironi Ashkelon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Hasharon will face Netanya (#8) at home in the next round. Ironi Ashkelon will play against Kiryat Motzkin (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
