The most exciting game of round 5 in the LUB took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked Trouville (1-3) to leader Olimpia (4-0) 84-83 on Friday evening. Olimpia had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Forward Pablo Macanskas (196-90) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Abel Agarbado (179-93) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. American point guard Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSU Bakersfield) responded with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Jarred Shaw (208-90, college: Utah St.) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Trouville's coach German Fernandez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olimpia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record, which they share with Aguada. Trouville lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Defensor and Goes. Olimpia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Malvin.
