Twelfth-ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (11-15) made lots of trouble for second ranked Vivo/Franca (20-5) in Sao Paulo on Friday. Vivo/Franca managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was the former international center Rafael Hettsheimeir (206-86) who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. American David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Vivo/Franca's coach Helinho Garcia used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian Nicholas Wiggins (198-91, college: Z*Orangeville A's) who recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American guard Kevin Crescenzi (190-93, college: Dartmouth) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vivo/Franca have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain second place with 20-5 record behind leader Flamengo. Paschoalotto/Bauru lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Vivo/Franca are looking forward to face Sao Jose (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play against Mogi in Mogi das Cruzes and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
