Regular Season Round 47: Koshigaya A. - Tokyo Z 63-88

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tokyo: Tokyo Z (#6) and Koshigaya A. (#5). Koshigaya A. was crushed at home by 25 points 63-88 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Tokyo Z forced 19 Koshigaya A. turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: Northwestern St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 19 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. Point guard Kotaro Hisaoka (180-97) accounted for 21 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Tokyo Z players scored in double figures. Hotaru Yokotsuka (179-90) came up with 23 points and American center Andrew Naymick (209-85, college: Michigan St.) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Koshigaya A. in the defeat. Koshigaya A.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Tokyo Z maintains sixth place with 12-35 record, which they share with Fukuoka R. Newly promoted Koshigaya A. keeps the fifth position with 32 games lost. Tokyo Z will play against higher ranked FE Nagoya (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Koshigaya A. will play against the league's leader Shinshu BW in Nagano and hopes to get back on the winning track.
