Valencia Basket defeated Zaragoza at home 89-71. The hosts trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 54-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Valencia Basket outrebounded Zaragoza 38-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Mike Tobey (213-94, college: Virginia) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Montenegrin power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Canadian-Jamaican point guard Dylan Ennis (187-91, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and international guard Carlos Alocen (194-0) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zaragoza will play next round against Andorra trying to get back on the winning streak. Valencia Basket will try to continue on its current victory against Real Madrid on the road.
