The most surprising game was the first loss of Xinjiang FT (2-1) on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by twelfth ranked Beijing Ducks (2-1) 78-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Xinjiang FT. Beijing Ducks made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Beijing Ducks made 7 blocks. Taiwanese-American point guard Jeremy Lin (190-88, college: Harvard) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 9 rebounds. Nigerian-American power forward Ekpe Udoh (208-87, college: Baylor) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Beijing Ducks' coach Giannis Christopoulos used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Zhou Qi (217-96) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and the former international center Changdong Yu (206-91) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Xinjiang FT. Beijing Ducks moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Xinjiang FT. Beijing Ducks will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Xinjiang FT will play at home against Eagles (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
