Regular Season Round 23: Maccabi T-A - Holon 103-65

The game between Top Four teams took place in Tel-Aviv. First ranked host Maccabi T-A (21-2) smashed 4th placed Hapoel Holon (12-11) 103-65. Maccabi T-A dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Holon's 38 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Maccabi T-A forced 23 Hapoel Holon turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Hapoel Holon's players. It was a great evening for international forward Deni Avdija (206-1) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Amare Stoudemire (208-82) helped adding 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. American forward Jimmy Hall (203-94, college: Kent St.) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Shlomi Harush (185-87) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 21-2 record. Hapoel Holon at the other side keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Maccabi T-A will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hapoel Holon will play at home against Rishon (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
