Both twelfth ranked Sturgeons and 10th ranked Golden Stars had identical 1-1 record. This time Sturgeons used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Jinan 93-84 on Thursday night. Sturgeons forced 19 Golden Stars turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international Zhelin Wang (214-94) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard Ty Lawson (180-87, college: UNC) chipped in 23 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center HanLin Tao (208-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds and the former international center Cheng Jia (207-91) added 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Golden Stars' coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sturgeons (2-1) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Golden Stars dropped to the fourteenth position with two games lost.
