Second Stage Round 5: Real Madrid - Zaragoza 97-88
Date: June 26, 2020
Rather predictable result when second ranked Real Madrid (3-2) defeated at home 6th ranked Zaragoza (1-4) 97-88. The hosts were already 12 points ahead at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 27-20 last quarter charge of Zaragoza cut the lead to 97-88 at the end of the game. Real Madrid made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Naturalized Cape Verdean center Walter Tavares (220-92) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all six shots). Argentinian point guard Facundo Campazzo (181-91) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. International guard Carlos Alocen (194-0) answered with 12 points and 6 assists and Canadian-Jamaican point guard Dylan Ennis (187-91, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) added 13 points in the effort for Zaragoza. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Real Madrid went down to third position (Endesa) due to points difference. Zaragoza at the other side keeps the sixth place with four games lost.
