Second Stage Round 8: Xinjiang FT - Qingdao E. 82-102

The most important game in the last round took place in Urumqi between third ranked Xinjiang FT (3-2) and seventh ranked Eagles (3-2) on Saturday night. Xinjiang FT was crushed by Eagles at home 82-102. Strangely Xinjiang FT outrebounded Eagles 51-34 including a 36-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Liu Chuanxing (190-97) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 8 rebounds. Taiwanese point guard Weihan Lin (178-90) contributed with 7 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Eagles players scored in double figures. Eagles' coach Bin Fan used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Zhou Qi (217-96) replied with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 4 blocks and the former international center Ziming Fan (211-98) added 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Xinjiang FT. Eagles moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Xinjiang FT and Shenzhen L. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
