Regular Season Round 24: M.Haifa - Nes-Ziona 94-79
Date: June 29, 2020
There was no surprise when 7th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (10-14) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Maccabi Haifa (12-12) 94-79. Maccabi Haifa outrebounded Ironi Nes-Ziona 46-35 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American Andrew Andrews (188-93, college: Washington) who scored that evening 22 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the other American import power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Cameron Oliver (203-96, college: Nevada) did not help to save the game for Ironi Nes-Ziona. Naturalized Welsh Tal-Michael Dunne (198-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ironi Nes-Ziona's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Maccabi Haifa moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Holon. Ironi Nes-Ziona lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 14 games lost.
