There was a minor upset when higher ranked Long-Lions (3-5) lost to eighteenth ranked Sharks (3-5) in Guangzhou 101-105. Sharks players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Long-Lions helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Ray McCallum (190-91, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Wasserman) who scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international power forward Hanlin Dong (208-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward Marcus Georges-Hunt (196-94, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 29 points and 5 rebounds and center Zhun Zheng (214-92) added 18 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Long-Lions' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sharks moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Long-Lions. Long-Lions lost third consecutive game. Sharks' next round opponent will be league's leader Guandong Tigers in Dongguan and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
