Second Stage Round 14: Guangsha L. - Zhejiang Ch. 98-109

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Hangzhou: Golden Bulls (#4) and Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#2). Zhejiang Guangsha Lions were defeated at home 98-109 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Golden Bulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Golden Bulls made 10 blocks. The former international guard Qian Wu (190-94) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals. Shuaipeng Cheng (-99) contributed with 23 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international center Jinqiu Hu (208-97) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 21 rebounds and guard Sun Minghui (188-96) added 26 points and 8 assists in the effort for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Golden Bulls (6-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. Golden Bulls is looking forward to face Blue Whales (#18) in Sichuan in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play on the road against Golden Stars (#12) in Jinan and are hoping to win this game.
