No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Maccabi Haifa (14-13) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (4-23) 99-92. Maccabi Haifa players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for American forward Reggie Upshaw (203-95, college: MTSU) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized American Willy Workman (198-90, college: Amherst) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American-Mexican point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 assists and the former international center Alexey Chubrevich (212-86) added 16 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Maccabi Haifa maintains fourth place with 14-13 record, which they share with Galil Gilboa. Maccabi Ashdod lost their eighth game in a row. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Maccabi Haifa will play against Galil Gilboa (#5) in Rosh Pina in the next round. Maccabi Ashdod will play on the road against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#8) in Nes Ziyona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
