Not a big story in a game in Jinan where 11th ranked Golden Stars (3-6) were defeated by fourth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (7-2) 100-84 on Thursday. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions forced 30 Golden Stars turnovers. Golden Stars were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for the former international center Jinqiu Hu (208-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Sun Minghui (188-96) helped adding 19 points, 9 assists and 4 steals. Four Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Chen Peidong (204-99) with 21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and the former international center HanLin Tao (208-91) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Golden Stars keep the eleventh position with six games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will face Blue Whales (#19) in Sichuan in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Golden Stars will play on the road against Monkey Kings (#15) in Jiangsu and hope to win that game.
