CBA top team - Guandong Tigers (10-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Sharks (3-6) in Shanghai 122-89. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sharks. Guandong Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 90 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 40 and made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Guandong Tigers forced 21 Sharks turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a quality performance for American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) who led the winners and scored 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 6 assists. International power forward JunFei Ren (203-90) accounted for 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American point guard Ray McCallum (190-91, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Wasserman) came up with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Yan Peng (198-96) added 18 points respectively for Sharks in the defeat. Five Guandong Tigers and four Sharks players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Guandong Tigers. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-0 record. Sharks at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Guandong Tigers will play against Long-Lions (#16) in Guangzhou in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Sharks will play on the road against Royal Fighters (#5) in Beijing and hope to get back on the winning track.
