Second Stage Round 16: Qingdao E. - Shenzhen L. 81-74

We should mention about the upset which took place in Qingdao, where 8th ranked Leopards (5-6) lost to eleventh ranked Eagles (4-7) in a road game 74-81 on Saturday. Leopards were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Taiwanese point guard Weihan Lin (178-90) fired 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman ChengYu Zhang (193-89) chipped in 18 points. Four Eagles players scored in double figures. Guard Yang Linyi (190-95) produced 17 points and the former international center Zijie Shen (205-97) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Despite that victory Eagles went down to twelfth position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Leopards dropped to the ninth place with six games lost. Eagles will face higher ranked Royal Fighters (#5) in Beijing in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
