Not a big story in a game in Nanjing where 14th ranked Golden Stars (4-8) were defeated by twelfth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (6-8) 101-92 on Monday. Jiangsu Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Antonio Blakeney (193-96, college: LSU) scored 38 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Quanxi Wu (210-94) chipped in 29 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Taiwanese forward Hui Zhang (198-96) with 23 points and 5 assists and guard Honghan Li (193-95) scored 19 points. Four Golden Stars players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Golden Stars dropped to the sixteenth position with eight games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will face again Golden Stars (#16) in Jinan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Golden Stars will play at home against Golden Bulls and hope to win that game.
