Second Stage Round 18: Tianjin - Guangsha L. 93-125

There was no surprise in Tianjin where 20th ranked Pioneers (1-13) were outplayed by sixth ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (10-4) 125-93 on Tuesday. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Pioneers' 36. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions forced 28 Pioneers turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Pioneers were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Sun Minghui (188-96) scored 30 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Jinglong Li (195-95) chipped in 24 points and 4 steals during the contest. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' coach ChunJiang Li felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Deshaui Shi (192-92) with 20 points and 5 assists and power forward Tian Yu (200-80) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Xinjiang FT. Loser Pioneers stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will face Jilin Tigers (#15) in Changchun in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Pioneers will play on the road against Xinjiang FT (#5) in Urumqi and hope to win that game.
