There was no surprise when 7th ranked Sturgeons (10-5) were crushed on the road by second ranked Beijing Ducks (13-2) 115-87 on Wednesday. Beijing Ducks forced 19 Sturgeons turnovers and outrebounded them 44-31 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Beijing Ducks looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Sturgeons' players. The former international forward Lin Chang (206-88, college: LBSU) fired 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international forward JiangPeng Duang (197-90) chipped in 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Sun Chunpeng (198-95) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and center He Zhongda (203-94) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Sturgeons players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Beijing Ducks. They maintain second place with 13-2 record having just two points less than leader Guangdong ST. Loser Sturgeons keep the seventh position with five games lost.
