Very predictable result when Wanneroo (1-0) rolled over Redbacks (1-1) in Joondalup 75-49 on Friday. Wanneroo forced 24 Redbacks turnovers. American power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: EMU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 6 rebounds. Chelsea Belcher contributed with 15 points for the winners. Forward Jessica Jakens (181-94) replied with 11 points and 5 rebounds and forward Maddison Allen (190-93, college: Santa Clara) added 2 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Redbacks. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wanneroo will face Cougars (#8) in Hamilton Hill in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Redbacks will play on the road against Hawks in Floreat and hope to win that game.
