Regular Season Round 3: Warwick S. - SW Slammers 130-58

Slammers (#5) were upset in Perth by Senators 130-58. Senators dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Slammers' 32. Senators forced 24 Slammers turnovers and outrebounded them 54-25 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 58.8 percentage. Senators looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Slammers' players. The best player for the winners was American guard Justin King (196-89, college: TRU) who scored 28 points and 8 rebounds. Ethan Elliott chipped in 18 points and 4 assists. Five Senators players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Mitch Keller (203-96, college: Delta St.) who recorded 12 points and guard Luke Deighton (181-92) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Senators will meet at home Wanneroo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Slammers will play against Eagles (#8) in Morley and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
