Hawks used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Northbridge 93-65 on Saturday night. Hawks forced 19 Redbacks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Redbacks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for the former international forward Ben Purser (200-90, college: Augusta) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Robert Cassir (195-91) helped adding 12 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Five Hawks players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Caleb White (201-94, college: ECU) with 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Neema Kazemi (197-99) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Hawks will face Magic (#12) in Mandurah in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Redbacks will play at home against Buccaneers (#11) and hope to win that game.
