Regular Season Round 3: Mandurah M. - East Perth E. 94-90

An interesting game took place in Mandurah where Eagles (1-2) were upset on the court of Magic (1-3) 94-90 on Saturday. Magic made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Eagles turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for forward Tom Atkinson (198-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Josh Hunt (179) helped adding 21 points and 7 rebounds. Four Magic players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Shaquille Maharaj (196, college: Camosun) with 36 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Logan Thwaites (200-97) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Magic will face Hawks (#4) in Floreat in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
