An exciting game was played in Boston. Second ranked Celtics faced 4th ranked Trail Blazers. Host Celtics (44-22) defeated guests from Portland (30-38) 128-124. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Trail Blazers. Celtics made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Celtics looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Trail Blazers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Jayson Tatum (203-98, college: Duke) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 8 assists. Forward Jaylen Brown (201-96, college: California) chipped in 30 points and 6 rebounds. Celtics' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Damian Lillard (190-90, college: Weber St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and Bosnian-Slovenian center Jusuf Nurkic (213-94) added 30 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Celtics keep a position of league leader, which they share with Denver N. Loser Trail Blazers keep the fourth place with 38 games lost.
