Regular Season Round 7: Hamilton - Ottawa 69-85

The game between third ranked Hamilton (2-3) and fifth ranked Ottawa (2-2) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Hamilton was defeated by Ottawa in Hamilton 69-85. They outrebounded Hamilton 43-32 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ottawa looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Hamilton helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of British-Canadian Thomas Scrubb (198-91, college: Carleton) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds. Eritrean-Canadian guard Johnny Berhanemeskel (188-92, college: Ottawa) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five Ottawa players scored in double figures. Guard Jaylen Babb-Harrison (193-93, college: EKU) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian-Canadian guard Caleb Agada (196-94, college: Ottawa, agency: Blacktop Management) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Hamilton. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ottawa moved-up to fourth place. Hamilton at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Ottawa are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Niagara (#7) at home in the next round. Hamilton will play against Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
