The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked Nuggets' (45-22) road victory over their biggest opponent Thunder (41-25) in Oklahoma City 121-113 on Monday. Nuggets dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Thunder's 44 and made 30-of-39 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Nuggets looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Thunder was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Serbian center Nikola Jokic (209-95, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Forward Michael Porter Jr. (208-98, college: Missouri) contributed with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Nuggets players scored in double figures. Point guard Chris Paul (183-85, college: Wake Forest) answered with 23 points and 8 assists and Canadian point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (198-98, college: Kentucky) added 24 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Thunder. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Nuggets maintains first place with 45-22 record. Loser Thunder keeps the second position with 25 games lost.
