Regular Season Round 141: LA Lakers - OKC Thunder 86-105

Date: August 5, 2020
The most crucial game of the last day was a loss of Lakers (51-16) in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by Thunder (42-25) 105-86. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Thunder made 32-of-36 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Thunder had a 48-36 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Lakers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for point guard Chris Paul (183-85, college: Wake Forest) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. New Zealand power forward Steven Adams (213-93, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Thunder players scored in double figures. LeBron James (203-84) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and center Anthony Davis (208-93, college: Kentucky) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Lakers. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Thunder keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Houston R. Lakers at the other side still keep top place with 16 games lost. Thunder will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lakers will play at home against the league's leader Rockets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
