Regular Season Round 142: Houston R. - LA Lakers 113-97

The most crucial game of the last day was another loss of Lakers (51-17) in Houston on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by Rockets (43-25) 113-97. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Rockets made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Lakers turnovers. Strangely Lakers outrebounded Rockets 49-34 including 36 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of James Harden (196-89, college: ASU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 12 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!). Guard Ben McLemore (196-93, college: Kansas) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Five Rockets players scored in double figures. Center Anthony Davis (208-93, college: Kentucky) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and forward Kyle Kuzma (206-95, college: Utah) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Lakers. Lakers' coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Rockets maintains first position with 43-25 record which they share with defeated Lakers. Lakers at the other side still keep top place with 17 games lost.
