Very important is a road loss of third ranked Jazz (42-27) against fourth ranked Spurs (30-38) on Friday night. Visiting Jazz was defeated by Spurs in a tough game in San Antonio 111-119. Spurs dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Jazz's 44 and made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Spurs players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Derrick White (196-94, college: Colorado) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Austrian forward Jakob Poeltl (213-95, college: Utah) accounted for 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Filipino-American guard Jordan Clarkson (196-92, college: Missouri) came up with 24 points and 4 assists and Tony Bradley (208-98, college: UNC) added 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Jazz in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spurs maintains fourth place with 30-38 record. Jazz at the other side dropped to the second position with 27 games lost. They share it with Philadelphia 76 and Indiana P. Spurs will have a break next day, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jazz will play at home against the league's leader Nuggets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
