Regular Season Round 4: Joondalup W. - Kalamunda E.S. 87-55

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Suns (2-1) in Joondalup on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by Wanneroo (4-0) 87-55. Wanneroo dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Suns' 16. Wanneroo forced 23 Suns turnovers and outrebounded them 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Kayla Steindl (187-89, college: Gonzaga) fired 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Georgia Denehey (-99) chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds. Rebecca Motroni produced 12 points and center Jessie Edwards (192-95, college: Minnesota) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Wanneroo have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Suns at the other side dropped to the sixth place with one game lost. They share the position with Warwick S.. Wanneroo are looking forward to face Magic (#8) in Mandurah in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Suns will play at home against the league's second-placed Lightning and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
