Regular Season Round 4: Willetton T. - Perry Lakes H. 94-96

Date: August 7, 2020
A very interesting game took place in Willetton. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Tigers (2-2) to second ranked Hawks (5-1) 96-94 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tigers. Hawks forced 19 Tigers turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Tigers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by the former international forward Ben Purser (200-90, college: Augusta) who scored that evening 22 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Cooper Hamilton (192-98) supported him with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Five Hawks players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 22 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists by naturalized British forward Lewis Thomas (203-92, college: WOU) did not help to save the game for Tigers. Guard Andrew Black (190-93) added 20 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Hawks have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Tigers at the other side dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. Hawks' next round opponent will be Slammers (#11) in Bunbury and are hoping to win another game. Tigers will play at home against Giants (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
