An interesting game for Clippers (47-21) which played road game in Portland against 4th ranked Trail Blazers (32-39). Second ranked Clippers managed to get a 5-point victory 122-117. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Trail Blazers. Clippers made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by swingman Paul George (206-90, college: Fresno St.) who scored that evening 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Croatian center Ivica Zubac (216-97, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Clippers' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 29 points and 8 assists by guard C.J. McCollum (193-91, college: Lehigh) did not help to save the game for Trail Blazers. Bosnian-Slovenian center Jusuf Nurkic (213-94) added 10 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Clippers and five Trail Blazers players scored in double figures. Clippers maintains second position with 47-21 record having just two points less than leader Toronto R. Loser Trail Blazers keep the fourth place with 39 games lost. Clippers will meet Nets (#4) in the next day. Trail Blazers will play against 76ers in Philadelphia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
