Regular Season Round 5: Iraklio - Promitheas 64-99

U18 League top team - Promitheas (4-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Iraklio (0-5) in Irakleio 99-64. Promitheas dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Iraklio's 38 and had 24 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Iraklio only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Iraklio 42-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. Promitheas players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Iraklio was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Eleutherios Madzoukas (208-3) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 57 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners and power forward Angelos-Andreas Lagios (203-3) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Marios-Vasileios Gizis (187-3) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Mihail Koukiadakis (193-2) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Promitheas maintains first place with 4-1 record, which they share with Peristeri. Iraklio at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost.
