Regular Season Round 146: Phoenix Suns - OKC Thunder 128-101
Date: August 10, 2020
An interesting game for Suns (32-39) which hosted second-ranked Thunder (43-27). Third ranked Suns had an easy win 128-101. They made 27-of-29 free shots (93.1 percent) during the game. Suns forced 19 Thunder turnovers and outrebounded them 53-40 including 41 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Suns made 7 blocks. Devin Booker (198-96, college: Kentucky) notched 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and Croatian Dario Saric (207-94, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds by forward Darius Bazley (206-0) did not help to save the game for Thunder. Point guard Chris Paul (183-85, college: Wake Forest) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the guests. Five Suns and four Thunder players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Suns have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Orlando M. Loser Thunder keeps the second position with 27 games lost. Suns will meet at home 76ers (#3) in the next day, which may be the game of the day. Thunder will have a break next day.
