Regular Season Round 5: Kalamunda E.S. - Lakeside L. 58-51

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Suns (3-1) won against 4th placed Lightning (3-2) in Kalamunda 58-51 on Saturday. Suns forced 22 Lightning turnovers. Center Jessie Edwards (192-95, college: Minnesota) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Jewel Williams (168-1) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Power forward Ashleigh Isenbarger (187-97) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Kyrah Daniels added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Lightning. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Suns moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Lightning dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Suns will face Cougars (#9) in Hamilton Hill in the next round. Lightning will play on the road against Slammers in Bunbury and hope to win that game.
