There was no surprise when 11th ranked Eagles (1-5) lost to leader Flames (4-0) in Rockingham 70-87 on Saturday. Flames forced 22 Eagles turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Eagles were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Christina Boag (188-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Guard Tayah Burrows (179-1) contributed with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Shannon Street answered with 7 points and 5 assists and power forward Fiona Madden (185-85) added 4 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Eagles. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Flames moved-up to second place in League. Loser Eagles keep the eleventh position with five games lost. Flames will face Tigers (#10) in Willetton in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eagles will play at home against Tigers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
