Regular Season Round 6: Northside W. - USC Rip 100-95

There was an upset in Taigum where higher ranked Rip City (2-2) was defeated by eighth ranked Wizards (2-1) 100-95 on Saturday. Wizards made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Rip City outrebounded Wizards 52-39 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Stephanie Reid (168-96, college: Buffalo) scored 44 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Courtney Woods (183, college: NIU) chipped in 26 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Maddison Rocci (167-98) with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Katherine Ups (175-95, college: Buffalo) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Wizards moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser Rip City dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. Wizards will face league's leader Capitals in Brisbane in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rip City will play on the road against Pirates (#11) in Runcorn and hope to win that game.
