Urupan used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Montevideo 83-67 on Saturday night. Urupan looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Nicola Pomoli (195-99) stepped up and scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and Argentinian center Agustin Caffaro (209-95) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. Five Urupan players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized American Reque Newsome (203-81, college: S.Indiana, agency: Pro Sports) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Hector Silva (192-90) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Urupan will face 25 de Agosto (#4) in Montevideo in the next round. U. Atletica will play on the road against Tabare and hope to win that game.
