There was no surprise when 11th ranked Eagles (1-9) were outleveled by seventh ranked Lightning (6-2) in Morley 75-48 on Friday. Lightning held Eagles to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Lightning forced 23 Eagles turnovers. Power forward Ashleigh Isenbarger (187-97) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. Mia Jacobs contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Eryn Fisher (183, college: UMBC) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and Brianna Fisher added 6 points, 5 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Eagles. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Lightning moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Eagles keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. Lightning will face higher ranked Senators (#3) in Perth in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Eagles will play at home against Senators (#3) and hope to win that game.
