Regular Season Round 8: Warwick S. - Kalamunda E.S. 110-69

Date: September 5, 2020
Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Suns (6-3) were outscored by fifth ranked Senators (6-1) in Perth 110-69 on Saturday. Senators outrebounded Suns 44-33 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Suns' players. Guard Stacey Barr (173-92, college: Idaho) orchestrated the victory by scoring 49 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Nicole Jorre (170-82) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Center Jessie Edwards (192-95, college: Minnesota) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Rebecca Motroni added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Suns. Five Senators and four Suns players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Senators moved-up to third place in League. Loser Suns dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Senators will face Lightning (#4) in Bullcreek in the next round. Suns will play on the road against Hawks in Floreat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
